Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-BC

Ms. Refuse completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saint Petersburg College and received her Master of Science in Nursing and psychiatric training at Walden University.  She was trained to treat individuals across a life span, perform psychiatric evaluations, and psychopharmacological treatment initiation and monitoring.  She is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ms. Refuse worked in psychiatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, long term care and as a nursing instructor for mental health nursing.  She takes pride in building professional relationships with patients and meeting the psychiatric needs of each individual  She works with patients with a wide range of mental illnesses which includes bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, addictions, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and personality disorders.  Ms. Refuse modalities of treatment include telehealth, outpatient, in-patient, partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP).  As an Allied Healthcare Provider at Largo Medical Center, IROC campus, she is the primary psychiatric prescriber for IOP and PHP. Her primary office is located at Behavioral Healthcare Options in downtown Safety Harbor, FL.
